Multi-sensory storytelling for our Diddy people and their grown-ups
Bringing classic stories to life each week through sensory activities, props and play.
In a world of screen time we want to support you to help your baby or toddler fall in love with books and reading and become a lifelong reader able to unlock all future learning opportunities and enjoy reading for pleasure.
We offer a supportive and friendly community where all new parents and babies are included and supported through our interactive storytelling and sensory classes.
What's it all about?
Here at Diddy Explorers, we do a wide range of different activities to help our Diddy people explore the world around them.
Our Sensory Storytelling classes ensure that your baby or toddler enjoys sensory activities to support their speech and language development, sensory development, physical development, social and emotional development from newborn babies up to preschool age. All activities are planned in line with the Early Years Curriculum by Early Years experts.

Promoting Imagination
Activities based around sight, smell, hearing, touch and taste.

Boosting vocabulary development
Developing communication skills through the inclusion of songs and nursery rhymes.

Socialising and bonding
A chance to socialise with like-minded parents/carers. Having fun whilst bonding with your little one.
Sensory Play
Babies’ earliest learning happens through their senses. Long before a newborn’s clenched fist uncurls at about 3 to 4 months-allowing him to take hold of the world and grasp, pat, and bat at objects-a baby is learning through his sensory system: through touch, hearing, sight, muscle sense, taste and smell.
Sensory play is simple, fun – and baby-brain-boosting. Play activities that stimulate your baby’s senses of touch, sight, hearing taste, smell – and engage movement and balance, too – encourage your baby to explore, investigate and do the kind of hands-on learning that really helps to develop core thinking skills and improve hand-eye coordination.

What They Say
Out 18m son has really enjoyed the sensory story sessions. They are an hour long which is just the right amount of time for this age. His dad often takes him whilst I have a bit of ‘me time’ and its nice to know that he is having fun and exploring new objects and toys so I can truly relax. Very relaxed atmosphere and child led 🥰

We absolutely love this group and Rachel is amazing! We've felt so welcome from day 1 and it's become one of our favourite days of the week! Rachel is so friendly and puts so much effort in to making each week fun and different and it's a great session to spend time exploring and bonding with my son 💙 Would highly recommend!

Rachel is very warm and friendly. Her sessions are well thought out with a different story every week, accompanied with a bag of different sensory items that the children can interact with. We 💙 it!
